Hagedorn Library Learning Center Buckley Country Day School

Enrichment Program

The Enrichment Program supports the regular curriculum and provides opportunities for students to develop their individual interests and abilities. The goal of the Program is to develop critical and creative thinking skills. Students are motivated, and challenged to become independent self-directed learners. As part of the Hagedorn Library Learning Center, the Enrichment Room augments the research process by using all available resources to encourage students to develop projects that reflect their learning.
4th Grade Colonial Newspapers & Homes
The fourth grade students did research about African Americans during the Revolutionary War in the library. From their research, they created newspaper headlines and short articles during their Enrichment Class utilizing a template, font styles, and clip art which was set up for them in the Computer Lab. The students also researched colonial homes and built models based on their research. Both projects went along with their Social Studies unit on Colonial America and the Revolutionary War.
